Spring Trend Predictions

8:00am — my alarm goes off. I eat some breakfast, throw on some clothes and head out the door to my first lecture. I was welcomed by hints of spring… the warm breeze, sunshine, and the sound of a lawnmower off in the distance. Spring is coming! Which means, time to ditch those black and gray outfits (no matter how chic they are), do a bit of spring cleaning, and take out those bright yellow jeans you haven’t worn since July. That being said, here are some spring 2020 trend predictions (no florals, I promise).

Monochrome Maxi Dresses

Time to ditch the floral and mix up the classic maxi dress we all know and love. Instead of bright colors and floral prints (Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.). Try solid colored dresses for a more chic vibe that you can then play up with some statement jewelry.

I can definitely feel a romper comeback soon. Forget tight shorts. Rompers are the perfect spring fit. They’re comfy, stylish, and will keep you comfortable as the temperature rises.

A lot a lot of white

As I’ve walked around town, I’ve already seen multiple people wearing white: white coats, white jeans, light white jackets… What a perfect way to celebrate the start of spring! This color will instantly lift your mood and make you feel ready for the summer months.

Big obnoxious hair clips

I have been seeing these types of clips everywhere, especially in H+M. It seems like the bigger the clip, the better. Get a cheetah-print or multi-colored one to spice it up a bit.

Hats! Hats! Hats!

Snapbacks are definitely still in, but I think the classic fedora style or bucket will come back as well. They’ve been gone too long, and I’ve missed them.

LBD for spring

I know, I know… I said no black. BUT – this is an exception. Just like the maxi dresses, I think this spring we will see more LBD instead of LFD (little floral dress).
