The Perfect 10 Boozy Winter Warmers

 

For all of you tired of the annual Costa Gingerbread Latte and Lindt Hot Chocolate and fancying something a bit boozier, then these recipes are your ideal Christmas winter warmers. If these don’t get you into the Christmas mood, then I don’t know what will. With that in mind, take a look at my top ten boozy Christmas drink picks, and give a go at making them yourself.

 

  1. Pumpkin hazelnut hot chocolate

1/4 cup Pumpkin puree

2 tbsp Tate + Lyle hazelnut pure cane syrup

2 tbsp Cocoa powder

1 pinch Kosher salt

Whipped cream

2 cups Milk

 

  1. Mulled Pear & Ginger

2 Ginger pieces, thumb sized

2 Limes zest of

2 Pears, ripepear.png

4 Limes juice of

3 tbsp Brown sugar, light

4 Cardamom pods

Cinnamon sticks plus extra to serve

2 Litres cloudy apple juice

500ml Bacardi

  1. Hot Chocolate with Cinnamon and Orange Liqueur

1 orange (medium-large)orange.png

1 3/4 cups milk (I used 1%)

1/4 cups heavy cream

2 tablespoons orange juice (freshly squeezed)

1 cup dark chocolate (chopped)

1 teaspoon orange extract (pure)

2 ounces chocolate flavored liquor

Whipped cream

Cocoa powder

Orange peel

  1. Hot buttered rum with ciderrum.png

3 cups spiced apple cider, unsweetened  

4 tbsp butter, salted grass-fed

1 1/4 cups golden rum, dark

 

 

  1. Spiced red wine hot chocolate

1 tbsp Brown sugar

1/8 tsp Cayenne pepperwine.png

2 tsp Cinnamon

3 tbsp Cocoa powder, unsweetened

1 can Condensed milk, Sweetened

2 cups Whole milk  

1 Marshmallows  

1 cup Garnacha red wine

  1. Apple Snowball

1/2 Orange

2 Cardamom podssnowball.png

Cinnamon stick

1 Star anise  

1100 ml Apple juice

100 ml Double cream

200 ml Yoghurt, Full Fat Natural

4 cloves 100ml Morgan’s spiced caribbean rum

2 Leaves of gelatine

  1. White chocolate Matcha Lattewhite.png

Vegetarian, Gluten free

2 tsp Matcha powder

2 oz White chocolate

2 1/4 cups Milk, nonfat  

1/4 cup Water, hot

  1. Baileys and amaretto hot-tails

4tbsp Chocolate powder

Chocolate Baileys (or regular Irish Cream if you can’t find it)

Amaretto

Pinch of nutmeg

Whipped cream

Candy canes (optional)

  1. Butterscotch Eggnogegg.png

1 part Eggnog butterscotch sauce  

1 Ice  

1 part Eggnog

1 part Kahlua

2 parts Vodka

  1. Hot Rum Horchata

1 cup long grain rice

2 cups waterhorc.png

2 cups unsweetened coconut milk

2 cups unsweetened almond milk

½ cup sugar

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 teaspoons cinnamon

Rum as desired (I recommend 1 1/2 ounces per 1 cup of horchata mixture)
